Counseling & Support Services at Dr. Crisp Elementary School

At Dr. Crisp Elementary, we believe that social-emotional well-being is just as important as academic success. Our counseling and support services help students grow personally, socially, and academically.

School Counselor:
Jennifer Garcia

  • Provides individual and small group counseling for students.

  • Provides students with social skills, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation.

  • Collaborates with teachers, staff, and families to address student needs.

  • Connects students and families with community resources when needed.

  • Supports families in connecting home and school.

  • Assists with attendance, family resources, and school communication.

Social and Emotional Teacher:
Melissa Hickey

  • Provides classroom lessons and small group support focused on social-emotional skills.

  • Helps students develop coping strategies, self-awareness, and positive relationships.

Social Worker:
Johanna Marston

  • Supports students and families with mental health needs, community resources, and advocacy.

  • Works closely with the counseling team to ensure students have access to appropriate support.

How Students and Families Can Access Services:

  • Teachers or parents may request support for a student.

  • Students can self-refer by speaking with their teacher or the counseling office.

  • Staff are available to meet with students and families during the school day.
